The Connecting Report
The Law Foundation of Ontario acts as a catalyst for achieving a truly accessible justice system. After identifying the need for greater access to justice for linguistic minorities and rural or remote residents, the Foundation asked George Thomson and Karen Cohl, two public policy experts with justice experience, to prepare a report on the issue.
They conducted a literature review, held extensive consultations with a range of legal, community and government organizations, and prepared the Connecting Report which described the problems and made recommendations for improvement.
As part of implementing the Connecting Report, the Foundation launched the following innovative programs:
- Connecting Communities
- Connecting Region
- Connecting Legal Interpretation
- Connecting Articling Fellowships
