On April 22, 2009, The Law Foundation of Ontario (LFO) was pleased to present departing Executive Director, Mary Shannon Brown, with an honourary Guthrie Medal Award. On the occasion of her leaving the LFO after close to thirty years, the medal was considered a fitting tribute and symbol of thanks and appreciation for Mary's many years of dedicated stewardship and deep commitment to the organization. The Guthrie Medal, established in 1998 in honour of former LFO Chair and Trustee H. Donald Guthrie, recognizes organizations or individuals for outstanding public service, who make significant contributions to access to justice or symbolize excellence in the legal profession.
